SEPTEMBER 2008 NEWSLETTER
NEXT MEETING: MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 16TH, 6:30pm
AT THE MEDINA LIBRARY
PROGRAM: Linda’s Open Meeting Night
This is a change because Janna will give her program in October.
Joyce suggests we take time to finalize plans for the Achievement Brunch and put finishing touches on favors. This is also a meeting where we can relax, visit, and maybe work on a project of our own.
ACHIEVEMENT BRUNCH: SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 15TH AT THE MANSFIELD PARK RECREATION CENTER. MARK YOUR CALENDAR
There are no birthdays in September so the group decided that everyone would bring a “small” finger food dish and we would have plenty of eats to keep up our strength.
It was suggested that we try a “Fabric Swap” at our next open night and that will be the September meeting. The idea is to bring something that you maybe got too much of or just changed your mind about and swap with someone else. This is different from the fat quarter drawing and I’ve never been to one, but it sounds like a fun way to update your stash.

AUGUST MEETING NOTES
Julie did a great program on bindings with demonstration of a continuous bias binding technique.
Julie also shared a system for organizing your fabric stash. More information is available at OrganizedHome.com.
Tammy reviewed our progress on the charity quilts and discussed the losses of quilters in the Cedar Rapids floods. Any members who want to make donations of quilt related items can bring them to the next meeting.
Tammy also brought a charm block quilt she has designed.
We had two more block of the month blocks to add to the collection. I hope those of you who are making these blocks will bring them so we can continue to see how different each block looks depending on the fabric that is selected.
See you Monday,
Edie
