Kay announced that the annual appreciation lunch will be Thursday, December 13th. The gathering will be at Bricks River Cafe beginning at 12 noon. Cost for the Meal is $11 and checks should be made payable to Bandera County FCS Committee. Stop by the Extension Office to register or contact Kay Welch. The Williams Creek Study Group is hosting this year’s event.
Gayle shared an announcement from Gone Quilting. If a group of Medina quilters contact Gayle and go together to shop they will have a 20% discount.
Tammy had just come back from quilt market and brought a special new toy from Special Threads. It is the Sidewinder Bobbin Winder. This is a really neat battery powered item for those of us not lucky enought to have a bobbinwinding without rethreading feature on our machines. Since the meeting, Tammy has sent us a message about ordering these gadgets at a special rate.
For show and tell, Debbie brought a Lighted Christmas Wall Hanging. She learned to do this in a class at the Sewing Circle in Kerrville.
Delores brought a queen size quilt she and her sisters had created as a graduation gift for her grandaughter.
and then our program….
Julie presented information of Paper Piecing and a book with a CD called 300 Paper Pieced Blocks by Carol Doak.
CHRISTMAS PARTY INFO:
Monday, December 17th. Pot Luck Refreshments
Chinese gift exchange—$10 or less
We talked about playing Strip Bingo. Bring 2 1/2 inch wide strips of fabric. One strip for each card/game you want to play. Winner of each game gets to keep the strips for that game. Not sure how many games we might play, but bring a 2 1/2 inch wide strip for each game.
Tammy has sent us a followup e-mail on the side winder gadget to let us know that Linda at www.AbbiMays.com has offered us a discount and has sent merchandise prizes worth over $100 for our Christmas Party. Tammy has suggested that as a thank you for so much support, we each bring one “Truly Texas” gift to make up a basket to send back to her.
It’s going to be a wonderful party and I look forward to seeing all of you there with snacks, fat quarters, fabric strips, “Chinese” gift and something “truly Texas” plus maybe something for show and tell. I’ll be there will all that and a big Christmas hug for anyone who wants one.
